A bold plan
I have a cunning plan to solve my speaker movement problems and build a sound driven projector without high-tech expensive bells and whistles. Edge projection is the way around the problems, and although it isn't entirely true to the goal of this project, it is the most expedient path to a working demonstration unit. What do I mean by edge projection?

Edge projection uses the fact that a beam moving along a surface at an extreme angle will move over a much greater distance of the surface with the same amount of displacement than when fired at a normal screen. This means the beam hardly has to move at all to produce the high frequency sweeps that create an image. It also means this unit will be a desktop projection unit - think laser keyboard style, but flatter.
If I had someone around who was capable with electronics, I could even develop a touch response unit to go with it. Touchscreen desk projection! The ultimate in non-clutter computing! But enough of my dreams, the technology is quite hard to develop (although not impossible).
I'll see what I can do towards getting one of these units constructed (or partially constructed) so that I can start tuning my software for edge projection. One of the biggest problems I face, is that everything's an if. This may or may not work, but I need a fully constructed unit with proper vibration damping before I'll know for certain whether it works.
